Well, physically it’s only .0016 per cent of the diameter, so the species is not doing that much worse than tectonics. But I am reminded of Summit, Illinois, elevation of maybe 100 m; nevertheless, it divides the Mississipi sources from those of the Great Lakes. Demonstrating that watersheds are not a matter of elevation, much as one might wish otherwise.
